Tawny Fonseca Porto Red Wine ● Porto DOC

During the month of January following the harvest, Maison Fonseca puts powerful, highly concentrated red ports into reserve, selected for their strong evolutionary potential.
Aged in small oak barrels in the company’s cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia, Fonseca Tawny Ports lighten as their lees settle to the bottom of the barrel. Racking aerates the wines, softening their original fruity notes in favor of more complex, nutty aromas.
After three years of ageing, the cuvées are blended to ensure the right balance between the different components. The bottling takes place a few months later, when the wine has reached maturity, ready to be enjoyed immediately.
